Ariana Grande is over the moon about her first-ever Oscar nomination! 🌟 The “One Last Time” singer shared an emotional post on Instagram, expressing how overwhelmed she was by the honor, saying she was “picking up [her] head in between sobs” to thank the Academy for such an “unfathomable recognition.” “I cannot stop crying, to no one’s surprise,” she added.
Ariana, who’s up for Best Actress for her role as Glinda in Wicked, said she’s “humbled and deeply honored” to be in such great company. She also reflected on her childhood dream of being a part of The Wizard of Oz franchise, sharing a cute photo of herself as Dorothy and reminiscing about watching Judy Garland sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” as a kid.
She took a moment to thank the Academy and also shared a video of herself singing The Wizard and I as a teen. Ariana expressed her gratitude to Wicked director Jon M. Chu for taking a chance on her and being an incredible leader, while celebrating the film’s 10 nominations.
Ariana couldn’t be prouder of her costar Cynthia Erivo, who earned a Best Actress nod for her role as Elphaba, and ended the post with love for her Wicked family and thanks to Universal and her loved ones.
