Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt officially finalized their divorce on December 30 after eight long years of legal battles. The Hollywood stars had a scandalous split after a heated argument on a private plane in 2016. Throughout the years, they have been embroiled in a custody battle over their six children. “Honestly, Angelina is exhausted. But she’s relieved this part is over,” said a source close to the 49-year-old Maleficent star.
The couple had a prenuptial agreement, but they were still involved in legal disputes over the division of assets. Currently, Jolie and Pitt are still fighting over the French estate with a winery, “Chateau Miraval.” Brad has another reason to be glad the divorce is over: since 2022, he’s been in a serious relationship with jewelry designer Ines de Ramon. Although Pitt was officially single in 2019, the couple waited for the divorce to be finalized before announcing their engagement. However, their plans have recently changed.
“Wedding postponed. The main reason is that Ines refuses to sign a prenuptial agreement. She doesn’t want to completely give up her rights. This has become a painful topic for both of them,” an insider shared.
The Oscar-winning actor wants to protect his fortune, valued at $400 million. After the long and costly legal battles with his ex-wife, he insists on a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot with de Ramon. “Brad knows that a prenup is necessary to continue his relationship with Ines. He’s not in a position to deal with legal issues again. For now, it’s easier for him to just sidestep the marriage conversation altogether,” the source added.
Ines is upset by the situation, especially since she’s been Brad’s support in recent years. “Ines wants to marry Brad and start a family with him. But she doesn’t want to take the next step without being sure she’ll be protected. She understands what Brad went through with Angelina, but she feels it’s unfair that she has to pay for it,” said a source.
Currently, the couple is in a waiting mode. “Brad intends to be with Ines long-term. He believes actions prove loyalty and devotion, not a marriage certificate. Pitt has made significant gestures toward Ines: he moved her things into his house and allowed her to renovate, which is important considering how particular he is about design. He’s also openly talking about wanting to have a child with Ines. If Brad were more naive, he would marry Ines without a prenup, but he knows the risks,” the insider concluded.
