The reason behind the police presence at Ben Affleck’s home was an unexpected visit from FBI agents and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officers. Paparazzi captured them at the door of Affleck’s residence in California, which he was advised to evacuate due to the ongoing wildfires. However, it turned out that the law enforcement officers were not there to advise him to leave, but for a completely different reason.
According to TMZ, the FBI agents were visiting residents in the Pacific Palisades area “in connection with unauthorized drone activity.” The authorities reportedly went to Affleck’s home to inquire if he had any footage from surveillance cameras that might show a private drone damaging a firefighting helicopter.
For context, the destructive wildfires in the western part of Los Angeles have been raging since January 7. The fires have destroyed dozens of celebrity homes, including those of Paris Hilton, the Hadid sisters, Mel Gibson, Anthony Hopkins, Jamie Lee Curtis, Mandy Moore, and many others.
