Mandy Moore lives in Altadena, Los Angeles, near the Eaton Canyon area. Just recently, her family celebrated Christmas and New Year’s with joy, but now they’ve had to evacuate urgently as fires affected their neighborhood. Moore visited the disaster area after the flames were extinguished to show her followers the extent of the destruction.
The 40-year-old actress wrote in a post that her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, lost his music studio, and their garage and guest house were destroyed by the fire.
“We were able to park and walk down our street to see the aftermath with our own eyes. The main part of our house is still standing. It’s a miracle. For now, it’s only half destroyed,” she wrote. “It’s uninhabitable, but still intact. Taylor’s studio with all his instruments and equipment burned down, as did our garage and guest house.”
The actress lives in the house with her husband and their three children: 3-year-old August, 2-year-old Oscar, and 3-month-old Louise. In her post, Mandy shared photos of the terrifying aftermath of the fire.
“Our neighbors lost everything. All the homes on our street are gone. My family, my brother, and sister-in-law—just 6 weeks after the birth of their first child,” she wrote.
Moore added that she and her husband will do everything they can to help rebuild the area.
“Thank you to everyone who is checking in and offering help. Altadena is strong,” she wrote.
