At 62, Jodie Foster took home the prestigious Golden Globe in the category of “Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie” for her performance in True Detective: Night Country. This win marked her fifth Golden Globe victory, out of ten nominations. Alongside Jodie, other nominees included Sofia Vergara for Griselda, Cate Blanchett for All the Old Knives, Naomi Watts for Feud: Capote vs. the Swans, Cristin Milioti for The Penguin, and Kate Winslet for The Regime.
When Jodie went up to accept her award, Sofia Vergara, unable to contain her reaction, quickly stood up and rushed toward the stage, exclaiming, “Oh no, give me one! Just not this again, not this!” Jodie, unfazed, smiled and acknowledged the moment with a light-hearted “I know.” The camera captured Sofia’s serious expression for a brief moment before she burst into laughter.
During her acceptance speech, Jodie took a moment to acknowledge Sofia, saying, “Another cool thing about my age and being here right now is having the chance to be among all these people, especially next to you, Sofia!”
