The festive dinner for Jamie Foxx’s 57th birthday at Mr. Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills took an unexpected turn when a glass was thrown at the actor, cutting his lip. According to TMZ, the incident occurred last Friday during a confrontation between Foxx and a group of inebriated patrons.
Witnesses reported that the group at the neighboring table began behaving “rude and vulgar” towards the comedian. When Foxx, who was with his family—daughters Corinne and Anelise, and ex-wife Kristin Grannis—asked them to leave him alone, one of the individuals became angry and threw whatever was within reach. A glass struck Foxx directly in the face. The celebration was cut short, and he had to be rushed to a clinic where stitches were applied.
Foxx is currently recovering, and the incident is under investigation by the authorities. Officers have filed a report of assault and confirmed that no one from the group has been arrested yet. The investigation is ongoing.
