Timothée Chalamet managed to surprise everyone at the premiere of “The Unnamed” in New York. Most guests had a hard time recognizing the 28-year-old actor in the young, handsome blonde with a mustache and goatee. Chalamet put a lot of effort into making himself almost unrecognizable. Besides the facial hair, he sported an unusual hairstyle and a new hair color, topped off with a beanie. He also dressed in a completely different style than usual, which made him look even more transformed.
It’s worth noting that Chalamet’s dramatic makeover wasn’t meant to confuse his fans. Instead, he closely mimicked the look of the real-life character he portrays in his new film: singer Bob Dylan. This was exactly how Dylan appeared in 2003 at the Sundance Film Festival, as seen in archived photos.
Chalamet himself took his transformation with a sense of humor. During an interview with Stephen Colbert at the premiere, he joked that his “goatee” and mustache added some masculinity to his delicate face and might even help him land roles as a “real macho.” Who knows, he joked, maybe he’ll even play a young Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson someday, who first gained fame as a wrestler before entering show business.
As for Timothée’s girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, she has yet to comment on whether she likes his new look. It’s possible she’s not as thrilled as many of his fans. She wasn’t seen at the New York premiere, though she had attended an earlier screening in Los Angeles to support him and stayed for the after-party, where the couple was spotted hugging and kissing.
