Aaron wore a black satin shirt without a tie, with the top buttons undone, a brown velvet blazer, black trousers, and lace-up shoes. His accessories included several earrings, two gold chains, chunky gold watches, and a wide ring on his ring finger.
Aaron was joined by his wife, Sam. The 57-year-old actress, director, and screenwriter wore a wine-colored midi dress adorned with rhinestones, which accentuated her slender figure. She paired it with black tights and burgundy shoes with square toes and ankle straps. The director of Fifty Shades of Grey opted for minimal accessories—simple earrings and a delicate ring.
On the red carpet, the Golden Globe-winning actor was joined for the first time by his adult stepdaughters—26-year-old Angelica and 18-year-old Jessie, from Sam’s previous marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling. The older daughter wore a white shirt and a black pantsuit, while the younger one chose a sparkling silver floor-length dress with thin straps.
Aaron Johnson and Sam Taylor-Wood met on the set of Nowhere Boy in 2009, when the actor was 18 and the director was 41. By the end of that year, the couple announced their engagement. They got married in the summer of 2012 and changed their last names to Taylor-Johnson. The couple has two daughters together—14-year-old Wylda and 12-year-old Romy.
The actor, who portrayed Vronsky in the Hollywood version of Anna Karenina alongside Keira Knightley, confessed that he quit drinking for two years during filming for the new action movie. “After filming, it felt so good that I ate a whole pizza and drank cold draft beer. It was the best thing I’ve ever had. Soon after that, I started to look like a balloon because my stomach wasn’t used to it!”
Aaron also explained why he and his wife Sam shield their children from public attention. “We deliberately live behind walls, both literally and figuratively. You will never see our children or any of our most private moments on social media or in the press. We have a professional life and a personal life, and we keep them separate,” said Taylor-Johnson.
