Hollywood stars gathered for a women’s breakfast hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles. Selena Gomez wore an elegant black Chanel suit. The cropped jacket, featuring patch pockets, a white collar, and matching cuffs, was paired with a straight skirt that ended just above the knee. The outfit was decorated with large silver buttons and accentuated the figure of the 32-year-old actress and singer, who has recently not only lost weight but also noticeably improved her appearance.
Selena’s look was completed with thick black tights and chunky white open-toe heels with ankle straps, high heels, and platforms. As for accessories, the former girlfriend of Justin Bieber wore several gold rings with gemstones. Her glamorous makeup featured a soft blush palette and coral lipstick. Her dark hair, styled in a bob, was parted in the middle and straightened.
Ariana Grande, opting for the same brand as Selena, wore a gray tweed mini dress with patch pockets, which appeared oversized on her petite frame. She paired it with the famous quilted Chanel bag in matte black leather, black tights, and classic pointed-toe stiletto pumps in leather and suede. The 31-year-old actress and singer had a subtle makeup look with curled lashes and nude lip gloss. Her hair was styled in an elegant updo, finished off with a black bow.
The stars posed together on the red carpet at the event, and many users were amused by how Selena appeared to tower over Ariana, even though neither of the women is particularly tall. Gomez stands at 165 cm, but she added height with platforms and heels. Grande, on the other hand, is just 155 cm tall, so even in stilettos, she appeared quite petite.
Both stars are nominated for Golden Globe awards—Selena for her role in Emilia Perez and Ariana for the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked. However, the two will be competing against each other in the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. Also nominated in this category is Zoe Saldana, Gomez’s co-star from her latest film.
Selena is also nominated as Best Actress in a Television Series for her role in the Hulu project Only Murders in the Building. This is Ariana’s first-ever Golden Globe nomination. The 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on January 5, with Nikki Glaser hosting the ceremony this year.
