The 70-year-old star of TV series revealed that her husband has passed away. “I am deeply sorry to announce that we have lost my wonderful husband, Julian Speer,” Carol stated.
The actress explained that her beloved passed away as a result of a tragic accident. “A completely healthy man jumped into an icy outdoor pool, which he thought had been heated, and suddenly suffered a massive brain hemorrhage. My heart is breaking. We were married for 47 years and had known each other for 56,” Royle wrote on her personal blog.
Carol has appeared in many films and TV series, with her most notable roles in Heartbeat, Midsomer Murders, Coronation Street, Father Brown, and New Tricks.
In 1977, Royle married musician Julian Speer, the son of actor Bernard Speer. They raised two children, Sam and Talitha. Julian founded his own production company and worked with stars such as Sheryl Crow, Elton John, Jon Bon Jovi, and others.
