Halle Berry is struggling to come to terms with the final outcome of her divorce proceedings with her third husband, Olivier Martinez. Recently, she was hit with an unpleasant surprise—a ruling from the judge that was not in her favor. However, the actress is not backing down and has stated that she plans to file a new lawsuit against Martinez.
The actress learned that the judge had decided to impose a financial penalty on her. She was ordered to pay Olivier $217,000. Part of the amount is meant to cover his legal fees, while the rest is a sanction imposed by the judge for what he considered her unfounded accusations against Martinez. This comes despite the fact that, during the legal battle, she was unable to achieve what she was aiming for: changing the custody arrangement for their son, Maceo. Given this outcome, it’s understandable that Halle is upset, especially since she believes the judge is biased against her.
Halle had unsuccessfully attempted to change their shared custody arrangement to sole custody. She argued that Olivier was recklessly neglecting their son’s education and mental health. According to her, Martinez overloaded their son with extracurricular training instead of allowing time for studies, and he allegedly forbid the boy from seeing a therapist, despite Halle’s belief that their son has serious issues that Olivier refuses to acknowledge. Additionally, she accused her ex-husband of violating their custody agreement.
