The 49-year-old star of “Maria” shared her views on her children’s future, stating that they won’t follow in her footsteps. Angelina Jolie has sons Maddox, 23, and Pax, 20, daughters Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18, as well as 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, all from her former marriage to Brad Pitt. At the film premiere, she expressed that she doesn’t expect any of her children to pursue acting.
“I’ve never had a shoot where my family wasn’t allowed to be present because I’m focused—I’m not that kind of person. You can surround me or come to me. It meant a lot to me that my boys were with me on ‘Maria.’ During really tough times, they would come and hug me or offer me a cup of tea,” Angelina explained.
She acknowledged that her children have helped her through difficult moments, being there when she was struggling. Although she tries to hide her emotions, there was a time she couldn’t hold back.
“Probably one of the most intense moments was when I expressed so much pain, which usually doesn’t happen in front of my kids. I really try to shield them from my hurt and sadness. I think it was the first time they heard me cry.”
Jolie reflected on how motherhood has changed her. At one point, she doubted her ability to be a good mother, but over time, she developed the necessary skills.
“I remember deciding to become a mother. Loving was easy. It was easy to dedicate myself to someone and something bigger than my life. The hardest part was realizing I had to manage everything myself—making sure everything was okay, from food to school and healthcare. Whatever happened, I had to be patient,” Jolie noted.
The Oscar-winning actress stated that her children helped her rediscover herself, providing inspiration and teaching her new lessons. She has confidence in her sons and daughters.
“My kids know who I really am, and they’ve helped me find myself again and accept who I am. They’ve been through a lot. I learn resilience from them. As parents, we encourage our children to accept themselves and everything they know deep down to be right, and they look to us and want the same for us,” Jolie added.
