His interest in playing drums was sparked when he visited a church and observed the drummers there.

I then taught myself to play piano, guitar, and trumpet while taking drum lessons.
“Despite financial difficulties, the boy’s mother remained his biggest supporter, posting videos of the boy singing soul covers on YouTube.
Even though she couldn’t afford drums, she gave him drumsticks so he could bang on the floor.
At age 12, he entered a local talent contest and placed second with his performance of Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.
“His mother posted footage of his performance on YouTube so others could see how committed she was to developing his potential.
The boy’s fortunes changed when his musical talent blossomed.
He earned nearly $3,000 in the summers from all sorts of activities, including busking outside the Stratford Theatre and yelling pop songs while brushing his teeth.
This good fortune allowed him to realize his dreams by giving his family their first vacation to Disneyland.
A child who was once limited by a lack of resources can now go into a restaurant and order without looking at a menu.
