Scottish farmer Steve had a modest herd of dairy cows. One day, the guy saw that Lila—who typically supplied the most milk—was entirely out of milk. The farmer decided to take a closer look at the cow in the meadow on the edge of the woodland after the veterinarian gave him the go-ahead that it was healthy.
He soon learned that the cow sometimes goes for walks in the evening into the forest, and he decided to follow her. The farmer would always bring the cows to graze in a clearing near the woodland. When he saw that Leela was lagging behind the group, he decided to go after her.
To avoid frightening the animal away, he went slowly till he finally came to a clearing bordered by trees. The cow moved to a little more distant place, concealing something. Steve walked over and saw a little calf.
It seems like Lila took it to the clearing a few weeks ago, maybe trying to hide it from sight. It took the farmer around five minutes to determine the cause of this. Before being transferred to a new herd, each calf that we take is reared separately from the adults.
Reporters were informed by Steve that Leela seemed dissatisfied with the way things were going. The calf was abandoned with the cow. Steve decided to reevaluate his approach to running the farm.
