When looking at old family pictures of our ancestors, it’s difficult to ignore the fact that people from earlier generations sometimes seemed older than they were. Although the precise causes of this phenomenon are yet unknown, people’s early experiences with life’s hardships probably forced them to develop more quickly. On the other hand, the tendency for people to seem younger these days can be attributed to contemporary developments and better living circumstances.
