The well-known and attractive 65-year-old actor Kevin Bacon has had a long career in film. He was even honored with a Golden Globe for an HBO production. However, Bacon never viewed any of his performances until he became successful on television.Balcon and his family now live a happy life on a farm. Bacon’s story, from his modest origins living on a low budget to being successful in Hollywood, is an inspiration to many.In a recent interview, Bacon said that he was initially hesitant to work on television. “I would have fired my agent,” he remarked, if his representative had called and suggested that they write a series. But he had a change of heart because of his actress wife, Kyra Sedgwick.
On the program they both starred in, Bacon commented about how much he liked hanging out with Sedgwick and going to award shows together. According to him, “I always imagined being an actor as being able to put on these different hats and become different people. You know, when I started to see her film work, it was barely recognizable.” Like Meryl Streep, Sedgwick could change into a variety of personalities, which inspired Bacon.
Let’s go back to 1976, the year when Bacon relocated to New York from his homeland of Philadelphia. Although he had previously traveled to the city with his sister, this time he intended to stay.
He lived with his sister at first, but when he did find a house of his own, all he had for the entire month was $150.
“I don’t know where I got the math on that, but that’s…what I had decided,” Bacon recounted. He stumbled upon an advertisement in The Village Voice for an artist’s, actor’s, and musician’s flat. It was all he could afford, even if it ended up being a flophouse. A pianist and Bacon co-owned a rental office for four years.Despite having difficult living circumstances, Bacon’s acting career flourished, and he made positive life changes. He first got to know Kyra Sedgwick on the “Lemon Sky” film set in 1987.
For Bacon, it was love at first sight, but Sedgwick took some time to warm up to her.Bacon persisted, though, and ultimately they went on their first date. They enjoyed a romantic supper and laughed for hours. They had a great time. Once Sedgwick realized that Bacon was the one for her, they became each other’s greatest supporters and admirers.
Their two children, Travis and Sosie, who are now in their 30s, were raised by them together. Being a parent brought Bacon much joy, and he always made an effort to teach his kids morality, honesty, and love for everyone and everything. A sense of humor is essential, as Sedgwick states. He is hilarious beyond belief.
